DON-WD Celebrate’s World Water Day 2019

Trees and plants are one of the main reasons why we are alive on this earth. They provide the life giving oxygen without which our survival on this planet is simply impossible. Besides this, there are various other benefits of planting trees. There are numerous benefits of planting trees. Some of the benefits they offer include absorbing harmful gases that pollute the environment, providing food and shelter for birds and animals, preservation of the watershed and providing shade during hot summer days.

The Donsol Water District (Don-WD) recently conducted a Tree planting Activity last March 22, 2019 at Sitio Mabinit, Brgy. San Ramon, Donsol, Sorsogon.

The activity was participated in by the Don-WD employees and the Board of Directors led by Chairman Jose S. Razo and GM Daisy B. Jesoro.

The Donsol WD participated in the national program in the celebration of World Water Day with the global theme “No one is to be left behind” and has adopted the localized theme of “Hawak Kamay, Tubig Kaagapay” and with the local official hashtags:#SaTubigWalangIwanan and #WorldWaterDayPH2019.

This year’s localized theme is an adaptation of the central promise of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development: as sustainable development progresses, everyone must benefit.
Meanwhile, in the observance World Water Day, the Don-WD headed by Chairman Razo together with Directors Remedio P. Abetria, Lina A. Montaos and Salvacion M. Origines joined in the tree planting activity.

The Don-WD planted 75 seedlings of Pili trees at the proposed new well site in Sitio Mabinit, Barangay San Ramon, Donsol, Sorsogon.
